This type of stainless steel is the most commonly used stainless steel grade and contains between 18% and 20% chromium. This stainless steel has great corrosion resistance., but it is susceptible to crevice corrosion. Its tensile strength is 73,200 PSI and it is commonly used for home appliances that you may use on a daily basis. You may also see this type of stainless steel in commercial food processing piping and even in structures that can corrode standard carbon steel.
